For INFORMATIONAL Purposes: Found a vulnerability in the Vélib’ bike app that lets you track any bike on the Paris network. You can even track individual bikes if you have their ID (visible on every bike and inside the Velib’ app)!! I decided to build a small website that lets you visualise bike movements and maps information about the current traffic. This is all possible due to how the Velib’ app is designed, displaying real-time information about individual bikes at every station in the city. More details about this are explored in this video… This video is for informational purposes and demonstrates what is possible due to this app design oversight.
